Family, Friends, and the community of Idaho Falls, I am reaching out and asking for your generosity and any help for Yesenia Hernandez “Yesi.” Yesi, together with her family are owners of Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant located at 340 E Anderson St in Idaho Falls. They have served the community for 25 years. Yesi was practically raised in the Puerto Vallarta’s restaurants in Idaho Falls since age 7. The last 8 years Yesi has been a key component in the family business. Yesi has been very successful however, last year August 2019, she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 4 cancer. This changed everything in her family’s lives and with their business as well.
Yesi has 3 beautiful children ages 15, 13, and 11. She is the wife to Manuel Hernandez. Her parents are Maria Hernandez and Ramiro Ortega. Yesi is currently being treated in the University of Washington Hospital, it has been a struggle having to travel back and forth to Seattle to Idaho Falls. After Yesi was diagnosed with cancer, it did not stop her. She has been so strong and not wanting to worry her family and continuing life as she always did, regardless of how she was feeling. She worked up until she was not able to anymore. Things started getting harder for Yesi and her family right before Christmas. Yesi became very ill during Christmas time when she traveled back to Idaho Falls to spend Christmas with her husband and children, she quickly was admitted to the hospital in Idaho Falls and was put in a medically induced coma after countless hours of surgery. Yesi was eventually stable enough to be flown to the University of Washington Hospital where she was being treated for her cancer and has been medically induced for over 30 days now. There are no solid answers as to what is going to happen to her. The family waits patiently with hope for a miracle to happen.
Yesi’s family is going through a very difficult time. They always leaned on Yesi for everything involving family and business. This fundraiser is created to help Yesi and her family pay for any medical bills that they may have. Also to help support their everyday expenses as they get through this difficult time.
Yesenia is a person who would never ask for help, she is a hard worker and determined. She has goals to continue to grow their family business. She didn’t ever want anyone to know she was suffering, even through her chemo, she didn’t work as much, but always showed up and told everyone she was okay. She had a positive attitude through it all.
