RHS 20th Annual Mental Health Symposium

Rehabilitative Health Services will be hosting its 20th Annual Mental Health Symposium May 12th, 2023 beginning at 8:00AM and lasting until 5:00PM. It will be held at The Bennion Student Union Building located at 1784 Science Center Dr., Idaho Falls, ID 83402. The cost of the conference is $55 if you are taking for CEU’s. There will be a total of 6.25 CEU’s available. The conference is free of charge to local school faculty and for university students (includes CEU’s)or if taking for non CEU’s. This will be the 20th year that Rehabilitative Health Services has hosted The Mental Health Symposium. Our topic this year is “Breakthrough Strategies for Crisis Intervention”. We will have trainings on crisis prevention techniques, motivational interviewing, suicide prevention and safety planning, symptom management for mental health as well as a panel discussion including other members of the mental health community. There will also be an introduction by the director of the new youth crisis center, opening June 1st, 2023. This center is designed to assist youth between the ages of 11 to 17 in crisis situations.
In previous years the Mental Health Symposium has covered topics relating to “Where to go for Mental Health Services” in 2017, “Combating the Addiction Crisis” in 2019, and in 2021 “A Comprehensive Approach to Overall Wellness”. This event is great for medical and mental health professionals, students or anyone who would like to learn more about crisis services in our community.
