Riverbend Radio

Our stations include:

KLCE plays “Today’s Variety” and has been the #1 adult contemporary station in East Idaho for over three decades. Its rich heritage as the market leader in mass-appeal music, entertaining personalities, and community involvement makes it a consistent favorite with adults and families.
KFTZ is “Idaho’s #1 Hit Music Channel,” a high energy hit music station with fun personalities and contests making it the first choice for the young, active listener. Z103 has dominated this demographic for over 30 years, and still remains the market leader for young adults.
KTHK is “#1 For New Country” in East Idaho, playing the hottest new Country artists along with comfortable favorites. No other station is as connected to the Country music scene as The Hawk, whose high energy personalities give away more tickets to Country concerts than any other station.
KCVI is “Idaho’s Only Real Rock Station,” the exclusive choice in the market for males who wish to consume new music along with their favorite older rock. For 20 years Kbear has consistently connected with their strong fan base through engaging personalities, compelling contests, and concert events.
KEIR KEIR plays “The Sounds Of Sunday all week,” the best of Hilary Weeks, Michael W. Smith, Janice Kapp Perry, Kenneth Cope, Amy Grant, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and more. Sunny AM is the perfect station for people who wish every day could be like Sunday. Featuring Dave Ramsey 12n-3p weekdays.

66% of shoppers make decisions while on the road.

It is a simple fact of life that most of us spend a lot of time in the car. Outdoor advertising is still an effective way to get the message out about your business to the people who are driving in the community. Studies show that reinforcing a marketing campaign through a variety of mediums- including radio and billboards- can increase retention dramatically. At Riverbend Communications, we are actively involved in creating a positive impact.

Riverbend Outdoor offers large advertising displays that deliver your advertising messages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are many East Idaho locations with a choice of digital or static boards. Outdoor advertising is very effective at brand maintenance.

Learn our history

Our origins go back to 1986 with the introduction of KLCE “Classy 97.” The station filled a programming void by offering adult listeners contemporary programming. It quickly became East Idaho’s heritage choice for soft rock favorites and popular personalities.

A year later East Idaho welcomed its first Top 40 station, KFTZ “Z103.” The station succeeded by combining a new, exciting format with fun personalities and memorable contests. Young adults still count on Z103 for music and entertainment.

The innovation continued when KCVI “K-Bear 101” launched in 1999. Until then, adult males in East Idaho had no choice for new rock music. K-Bear’s reputation for rocking quickly spread, and remains strong with fans of the format today.

In 2004 KTHK “105.5 The Hawk” was created to challenge the limited Country choices in the market. For a decade it has proven to be a popular choice among Country listeners who expect more from their favorite station.

These legacy radio stations, along with NewsTalk AM 690 and 1260, were purchased in 2006 by Frank and Belinda Vandersloot, and Riverbend Communications was born.

Since then, Riverbend Communications has broadened its footprint to include other business endeavors and outdoor advertising. Riverbend Outdoor increases the marketing capability for our customers by providing billboards in Idaho Falls and Pocatello.
